So, this song is about … well … sex. As I said to my producer when I sent the song to him, “Yup, Martha finally wrote a song that might actually sell LOL.” I can say that I was very uncomfortable in the process of putting this one together. I was insecure about almost everything. That said, I took heart from the fact that the chorus of this song came nearly fully formed in a dream as well as the verse and bridge melodies, so I kind of felt like I could not ignore it. Major credit goes to Kenny, my producer, whom I asked to “conjure images of long, warm, lazy, sunny Sunday afternoons with the windows open and the breeze blowing the curtains and …” Which he did. Perfectly. It helps when your producer’s main instrument is saxophone. And of course most credit goes to my husband …
This is one of the few songs on which I simply sang lead vocals; there were no backing vocals. Kenny Schick, my producer, played or programmed all of the instruments. Kenny recorded his parts at Basement3Productions in Nashville, TN, and I recorded my lead vocal with Kenny Schick at Nice N Up Studios in San Francisco, CA in July 2019.
