On October 6, 2022, Rich Armstrong passed away unexpectedly. I have blogged about Rich’s influence on my musical journey and about my time touring with him and Michelle Shocked. As the day of my new album release approaches on Friday, April 21, I notice myself wishing I had shared an advance copy with Rich. He would have been so proud of me.

I was asked to write a tribute to Rich for the Waldorf School of the Peninsula newsletter, which appeared on October 28, 2022. Rich and I met as parents at the school, and we worked there together — he as a music teacher and I as a Board member and administrator — for many years.
